69 Plymouth Road Runner
The famous Plymouth Road Runner was manufactured by the Plymouth division of the American Chrystler Corporation from 1968 to 1980. This muscle car was able to run the quarter mile in 14 seconds and it sold for less than US$3 000. When the 69 Plymouth Road Runner hit the streets, it was a sought after speedster right from the word go. This was also the Motor Trend Car of the Year for 1969 and more than 84 000 of this model was sold during 1969.
The Chevrolet Camaro was manufactured by General Motors under the Chevrolet Brand and was first sold in 1966. The first-generation Camaro cwas one of the most popular muscle cars and had a standard drivetrain (a 230 cu in), 3.8 L straight-6 engine rated at 140 hp (104 kW). It was backed by a Saginaw 3-speed manual transmission.
Most of the 1967 -1969 Camaros were built in assembly plants situated in Ohio and California. A less well-known fact is that a number of Camaro muscle cars were assembled in the Phillipines, Switzerland, Belgium , Peru and Venezuela.
