What success means to me
To live a successful life, I would say it is important to always strive to do your best. Being mediocre is just not acceptable. In the society we live, I find many people are just living mediocre lives, they don’t strive for excellence. Why?
I don’t know if it is an attitude toward each other and the fact that no one took the time to teach them that being excellent is wonderful. Or whether they feel they are doing just fine and they don’t care about the next person. Fact remains, most people are mediocre.
It seems that people don’t have the best interest of their fellow citizens in mind. Being successful as a waitress for instance, I would say, is to be attentive to your client’s needs. Watching to see if they seem comfortable or uncomfortable when they are seated, talking to your clients finding out what they prefer. Smiling and being friendly is part of her service to her client. This waitress will be sensitive to the client’s needs, she will strive to bring the food as the client asked and remove dirty dishes when she notices they have finished their meal. Its normal stuff, but if she doesn’t act at the right time, she isn’t being successful in doing a good job.
This waitress is waiting for the instructions of her client, she is patient and she needs to stay focused on the job at hand. Yes, she has other clients but when she is at the table of one client, but they are all important to her. Success is what she is striving for, getting her order right, making sure that the people are being taken care of.
Being successful is a state of mind, it is how we approach life and it also has to do with our attitudes. Rise above your circumstances and your altitude will transform your attitude. You are a success!
